  • Gently remove the bottom two wheels (small) with a flat screwdriver
  • Remove the visible screws with the Phillips screwdriver and place them in the container
  • Use a coin or flat screwdriver to turn and remove the three plastic screws
  • Carefully lift the brush roller cover
  • Remove the three visible screws revealed after lifting the cover
  • Turn the vacuum over so the brush roller is on the ground
  • Keep in mind there are motor wires on the inside
  • Before separating the top half from the bottom half disconnect the wire casing by pinching the head
  • Flip over to remove the four screws holding the roller cover
  • Remove the belt from the gear on the right side of the roller
  • If needed clean the brush roller
  • Insert the new Shark Rocket belt in the same position as the one you removed.

Shark Rotator Vacuum

Follow these straightforward steps to change belt on shark rotator vacuum cleaners.
  • Push the release button and pull the handle from the vacuum cleaner
  • Release the wand
  • Tilt the vacuum backward and with the vacuum’s head upside down
  • Remove the front two small wheels
  • Remove all the screws holding the cover in place and place them in a container
  • Turn over and lift the top cover
  • Disconnect the wire by squeezing and pulling
  • Remove the now visible screws securing the brush roller cover and lift the cover
  • Slide-out the belt attached to the motor gear and brush roller
  • Remove all dirt and debris from the brush roller
  • Reinsert the roller and attach the new Shark Rotator belt.

Shark Navigator Vacuum

The Shark Navigator head and the Shark Rotator head are similar, follow the same easy steps for a shark navigator belt replacement.

To reach the brush roller compartment, you need to:

  • Take your time and find all the screws and remember some screws are hidden and some are extremely small
  • Refer to Shark vacuum cleaner manual for help
  • Remove all screws that secure the bottom cover of the vacuum cleaner
  • Unclip and remove the cover to reach the brush roller
  • Unplug the electrical connection wires
  • Pull out the roller brush on the opposite side of the belt
  • Clean the roller brush before returning it to the vacuum cleaner
  • Slide off the damaged belt and replace it with the new one.

Do not use too much force to remove or separate the covers as they will break. If you have any difficulty removing the covers, then a screw has probably been missed. Examine the area carefully to find the missed screw and remove it.

Reassembling vacuum cleaner

  • Reinsert the roller brush in the housing on the side of the vacuum belt
  • Slip the shark belt replacement onto the gear
  • Slide the belt onto the roller
  • Ensure that the belt is in the proper position by adjusting it
  • Push the other side of the roller into place
  • If your Shark model has a roller brush cover, line it up with the screw holes and insert the screws and tighten
  • Re-plug the wire connection
  • Reattach the outer cover of your vacuum cleaner and insert all the removed screws, lock in the flat screws and replace the small wheels
  • Reattach the vacuum head to the body of the cleaner
  • Plug the cable cord into an electrical outlet
  • Turn on your Shark vacuum for a renewed performance.
